So, it’s about 11:30 Friday night. Diogo and I have spent the last 3 hours prepping for our gig tomorrow…its the biggest gig we have had in the US to date. Eddie Halliwell, Alex Kenji, Hatiras and DJ Reza will all be there doing their thing along with FNF. I of course have given one last attempt to get all the unconfirmed party people to actually go to the event…did all my Facebook updates, myspace, soundcloud, twitter, podcast, (does it ever end!) and now blog. We got to practice a little more with Traktor and the Xone 1d midi controller tonight, which is pretty amazing. I can’t figure out if its for the anti-dj or for the ultimate dj. It’s so user friendly, but then again, I didn’t do all the midi mapping which I think gave Diogo a bit of a headache. That can maybe be another blog post for Diogo to write, he’s the tech guy, I’m just the student. But seriously, we are stoked for tomorrow’s show. Its the closest thing to any of the gigs we had in Rio and we really want to just rock it like we would in Brazil. If you are going to be around the LA area, the club is called Circus and its in Hollywood. We play from 1-2pm in the Winter Tech room…Eddie Halliwell will be playing from 1-3 in another room so we will just hope that you will be one of those awesome random people that don’t watch the huge headliner and instead go watch the other smaller headliner, Fox N Feel! Hello! And welcome to our blog! We are still trying to get the hang of it so bear with us…We started this blog because we want to share our experience with you. If you haven’t heard about us before, we are Fox ‘N’ Feel. We started this DJ group in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil back in 2007, actually it started with Diogo and his friend’s sister. I, Juliette, was still in California with a brand new Stanton DJ turntable kit with live mixes that my roommate used to say sounded like shoes in a dryer. Once I moved to Rio to live with Diogo, we started to play together (a couple that plays together, stays together!)…and off we were! Fast forward, or flash forward if you like the show, to 2009, now. We are producing music like crazy, thanks to Diogo’s hard work and research, and we are just trying to figure out the whole music industry. We thought we might give it one last push to see if we can really make it…be “The International DJ” (echo echo echo) that I’m sure we have all fantasized about…travel around the world, play at all the best parties (ahem, IBIZA) and drink champagne with David Guetta while texting Erick Morillo and twittering with Funkagenda. In other words, we are still trying for a chance at “The Good Life,” as Kim Fai or Frank Sinatra might say. Please join in our conversation and share your stories too! Try not to self promote too much and we will try too ….(I know, its hard not too).
